The New Jerusalems project is making accessible for the first time, archives from eleven post-war New Towns. A network of nine archives from England, Wales and the Republic of Ireland form basis of this valuable project. Open 09:00 to 17:00 Tuesday to Thursday; 09:00 to 16:30 Friday. Also open until 21:00 on the first or second Thursday of the month. Please ask staff for details when planning a visit. Not open on Mondays, weekends or Bank Holidays.

All the public rooms are on the ground floor of the building. We also have a disabled toilet and there is disabled parking in the car park.

Newton Aycliffe & Peterlee, Durham County Record Office, United Kingdom

Durham County Record Office is now closed for all enquiries (both in person and in writing) as we prepare our archive collections to move to The Story at Mount Oswald. We expect to remain fully closed until our move is completed.
